NOISEY "Bompton" Dinner with Lil L-Part II
In Part Two of the mini series about "Bompton" the area where Kendrick Lamar grew up we follow Zach to visit the Grandmother of Lil L. She talks about how Black Americans in the 60's migrated to LA and other northern cities to escape Jim Crow laws. She gives us an eyewitness account of how life was in Compton back then as well as living through the infamous Watts riots. We meet some of Kendrick's neighborhood friends and learn about how people there are using music as an outlet to get away from the trenches in the street.
